Mid Buckinghamshire

The Mid Buckinghamshire constituency encompasses Princes Risborough, Haddenham, Long Crendon, Great Missenden, Wendover, Stoke Mandeville, Stokenchurch and many other surrounding villages, as well as the growing Aylesbury suburb of Berryfields.

The Lib Dem prospective parliamentary candidate for Mid Bucks is Anja Schaefer. Anja has lived in Buckinghamshire for over 30 years. She is a Buckinghamshire Unitary Councillor, a Buckingham Town Councillor and, for two years, was the Mayor of Buckingham.

Anja is a senior lecturer in Business Studies at the Open University, specialising in the development of Small/Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Her priorities, if elected, are to bring stronger economic development to the area, to improve educational opportunities, especially for the most disadvantaged students, to support the needs of local health and social care and to protect the local environment and its natural habitats.

In the 2024 general election, Anja and the Lib Dems were in a clear second place to the Conservatives, with 26% of the vote. Labour, Reform and the Greens were well behind.
